INTERIOR
CLAIM PROCESS CHECKLIST
The
following is an interior claim checklist to assist you with the
tracking and activities involved in the handling of your claim.
This document is designed for your use in understanding the process
and assists us to expedite the processing of your claim. We have
included timeframes for each step of the process. By managing the
entire claim process, we can stay within our 120-150 day commitment,
excluding any delays in receiving the Work Authorization or other
required information. Click here to view the checklist for the
yard service claims process.
Interior claim process checklist:
- Submit
your Claim. After your Claim Eligibility Form has been received,
it will be reviewed for completeness, input into the database,
and a claim number assigned. (Important: any missing or incomplete
information may result in a delay of the claims process.) Expect
a 30-45 day processing time after your completed CEF is
received at CPRC.
- After
the claim number has been assigned, it will be reviewed by
CPRC to determine eligibility using the information from the Claims
Eligibility Form, as well as any supporting documentation you
have provided. This review process may take 45 to 60 days.
OR
If the claim requires visual inspection, you will be contacted
by a Crawford & Company adjuster to schedule an inspection.
(Important: When
contacted by Crawford & Company, you should schedule your
appointment for this inspection as soon as possible to prevent
delay in the claim process.) This may take up to
60 days.
-
If it is determined that your claim is not
eligible based upon your Claims Eligibility Form information,
you will receive a letter explaining your denial within two weeks
from the time of the determination.
- If
it is determined by CPRC that the claim is qualified, you
will receive a Work Authorization to sign and return. This will
begin the replumb process. At the time you receive the Work Authorization,
you will also receive a copy of the Scope of Work for your review.
(Important:
Failure to return the signed work authorization will result in
a delay of the claim process.) If the
Work Authorization is mailed from CPRC, allow two weeks to receive
the mail.
- When
the Work Authorization is Received by CPRC, the Contractor
Selection process will begin. If
the Work Authorization is not received,
the Contractor Selection process is delayed. If
this occurs, we will attempt to contact you and possibly mail
another copy of the Work Authorization for your signature and
return.
- When
the Contractor Selection Process is completed, you will be
contacted by a plumber to schedule the replumb. (Important:
You must maintain contact with the contractor regarding scheduling
in order to prevent a delay in the claim process.)
The Contractor Selection Process could take up to 30 days.
- After
the Replumb has been completed, CPRC will address any outstanding
leak expenses and/or wallpaper issues. This can take two to three
weeks.
- The
entire claim process will take 120-150 days during the notice
period. Please note that this timeframe
does not include delays in receiving the Work Authorization or
other required information.
