Question If the answer is Yes & the Leak is Active If the answer is Yes & the Leak is not active
Was the leak located in the bathroom, laundry, kitchen, apollo-type heat loop, or water heater?

If you are currently experiencing leaks in any of these areas, have your leak repaired and save the failed part(s) and the repair receipt. You will need to submit a Claims Eligibility Form (CEF).

A leak in these areas is typically an interior leak and should be entered into the section for interior leaks (Plumbing System) on the CEF.
If you answered No to the above question, continue to the next question.
Question If the answer is Yes & the Leak is Active If the answer is Yes & the Leak is not active
Is the leak in the Yard Service Line, under the driveway, the midline, the curb, or in the slab?  Please see definition of Yard Service Line.
If you are currently experiencing leaks in any of these areas, call CPRC immediately at 1-800-876-4698! A leak in these areas is typically an exterior or Yard Service Line leak and should be placed into the section for exterior leaks (Yard Service Line) on the CEF.
If you answered No to the above question, continue to the next question.
Question If the answer is Yes & the Leak is Active If the answer is Yes &  the Leak is not Active or Leak Source is still undetermined
Is the leak in the basement, garage, crawl space, or foundation?
If you are experiencing an active leak in one of these areas, there are two more questions which will help you to assess the origin of your active leak. Please continue to Active Leak Question.

If the answer is "Yes", proceed to the Non-Active Leaks Question for additional Help.

If the leak source is still undeterminable, typically this should be entered into the section for interior leaks (Plumbing System) on the CEF.

If you answered Yes to the Above Question AND the Leak is ACTIVE
Active Leak Question If the answer is Yes If the answer is No
Is the active leak between the city connection (or water source for wells and cisterns) and the shutoff valve? (A shutoff valve is close to the house or inside the house and shuts the water off to the interior water lines. This is not the meter valve.)
Call CPRC immediately at 1-800-876-4698! Have the leak repaired, save the failed part(s) and the receipt(s). This is typically an interior leak and should be placed into the section for interior (Plumbing System) leaks on the CEF. You will need to complete and send in a CEF but it is very important to prevent damage to your property.
If you do not know the answer to the above question, use this test on an ACTIVE leak to determine the proper procedure.
